US state rankings

These pages compare the 50 US states and the District of Columbia across every state-by-state chart on ANYSTAT: the economy and jobs, housing, crime, health, energy, wildfires and more. Each chart uses one official or primary source, such as the Bureau of Economic Analysis, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Energy Information Administration, the CDC, the FBI's Crime Data Explorer, HUD's homelessness report or Zillow's home value index.

A few results: California has the largest economy, $4.30 trillion in 2025, and the largest homeless population, 181,934 people, ahead of New York with 145,560. Hawaii has the most expensive homes, with a typical value of $833,340 in 2026, and the highest residential electricity prices. The District of Columbia had the highest violent crime rate in 2025, followed by Alaska and New Mexico.
