California leads the ten largest published state counts of potted poinsettias sold in the 2024 Census of Horticultural Specialties. Values use Table 8’s All pots / All sales / number sold column: wholesale plus retail across pot sizes, with exact plant counts rather than dollar sales. The source’s 2022 directory denotes the parent census programme; observations here are 2024. Operations qualified by producing and selling at least $10,000 of horticultural specialty crops during the year. This is grower sales coverage, not every shop’s Christmas retail transactions, exports or a 2026 sales forecast. Several individual state counts are withheld as D; they are excluded, not zero, so the title qualifies the ranking as published counts. No numerical cutoff tie is omitted. The approaching Christmas season is a plausible future hook as of October 29, 2026, without measured proof of increasing searches.
