About This Dataset

10 Largest Published US State Honey Production Estimates, 2025
North Dakota leads the ten largest individually published state estimates for honey harvested in 2025. USDA reports thousand pounds; values here are divided by 1,000 to give million pounds, retaining three decimals. The March 13, 2026 report covers farm operations with at least five honey-bee colonies, not every backyard hive. The national estimate is 115.716 million pounds. Other States contributes 15.604 million pounds but is an aggregate, so it is excluded from the state ranking; unlisted states are not zero and their individual ranks cannot be established. These are harvested production estimates, not stocks, retail sales or imports. No tie occurs at the cutoff. Holiday baking is a plausible upcoming seasonal hook as of October 29, 2026, without measured evidence of rising searches.
Analysis

The three leaders produced 52.300 million pounds, 45.2% of the national estimate. North Dakota alone contributed 26.6%; its lead over California was 19.795 million pounds.
