About This Dataset
10 Leading Surveyed US States for Maple Syrup Production, 2026
Vermont produced 3,091 thousand US gallons of maple syrup in 2026. This chart selects the ten largest production estimates among the 13 states in USDA’s June 11, 2026 table. Indiana (22), Connecticut (12) and West Virginia (11) fall below the cutoff, all in thousand gallons; none ties Minnesota. The published US total is 5,877 thousand gallons, compared with a revised 5,701 in 2025. These are syrup volumes from the 2026 production season, not sap, tap counts, Canadian output or sales revenue. A US gallon is a volume unit, not an imperial gallon. Unsurveyed states are outside this table’s scope, not zero. Holiday cooking provides plausible seasonal relevance as of October 29, 2026; no rise in search interest has been measured. The 2026 price and value fields were still blank in this release, so no revenue estimate is inferred.
Analysis
Vermont accounts for 52.6% of reported US output. Vermont, New York and Maine together contribute 78.5%. The national increase is 176 thousand gallons, or 3.1%, from the revised 2025 total.
