About This Dataset
10 US States with the Highest Adult Flu Vaccination Coverage, 2025–26
Massachusetts leads at 57.6%, ahead of Vermont at 56.1%. These are the ten highest published state point estimates in Figure 7 of CDC’s October 8, 2026 final report. Maryland and Rhode Island remain tied at 49.1%; display order does not break the tie. The District of Columbia (53.1%) is excluded because it is not a state. Mississippi has no adult estimate and is not treated as zero. Coverage is the weighted estimated percentage of adults aged 18 years and older reporting at least one flu-vaccine dose received July 2025–May 2026. BRFSS telephone interviews ran September 2025–June 2026; the national adult sample contained 252,699 interviews. CDC used Kaplan–Meier analysis and imputed missing vaccination dates. California’s sample was limited to June 2026; Mississippi conducted no interviews in the collection window. Self-report and nonresponse may cause bias. The source shows 95% confidence intervals: rank alone does not prove significant differences. This completed-season BRFSS series differs from the preliminary weekly dashboard; it is seasonal context, not 2026–27 uptake.

Analysis
Massachusetts is 16.0 percentage points above the national adult estimate of 41.6%; Delaware is 5.5 points above it. Only the first three displayed states exceed 50%. Adult and childhood estimates use different surveys and age groups.
