Countries ranked by total tea production in 2025, in thousand metric tonnes, according to FAO FAOSTAT crop statistics and the International Tea Committee. China leads with 3,340 thousand tonnes, more than twice India's 1,390 and more than the other seven countries in this table combined.
Kenya is third on 580, followed by Turkey and Sri Lanka, level on 280, then Vietnam (220), Indonesia (140) and Myanmar (80).
Production totals count all types of tea together — green, black, oolong and others — by weight, so they say nothing about the value of what is grown. Figures for the most recent year are estimates that are revised as national harvest data is published.
