Countries ranked by total tomato production in 2024, in millions of metric tons, according to FAO data. China leads with 68 million tonnes, more than the next three producers combined — India (21), Turkey (13) and the United States (11) add up to 45.
The rest of the table is much closer together: Egypt (9.2), Iran (7.1), Italy (6.5) and Spain (4.8) are separated by less than 4.5 million tonnes.
Production figures include tomatoes grown for processing into paste, sauce and canned products as well as those sold fresh, and national estimates for the most recent year are revised as harvests are finalised.
