Countries ranked by total banana production in 2024, measured in millions of metric tons according to FAO data. India produces more bananas than any other country on Earth, with over 30 million metric tons annually — yet barely any of this reaches international markets, as the vast majority is consumed domestically. The global export trade is dominated by Ecuador and the Philippines, whose climates and port infrastructure make them far more commercially significant than their production volumes suggest.
