About This Dataset
Rice Production by US State, 2025
Arkansas leads the six reported rice-producing states with 93.449 million cwt in the 2025 crop year. California follows with 44.024 million cwt.
The chart uses USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) State Agriculture Overviews for 2025, retrieved on October 20, 2026. We checked all 50 state pages and ranked the 6 states with a published numeric production estimate for this crop. All six estimates are shown.
All rice combines long-, medium- and short-grain rough rice. One US hundredweight (cwt) equals 100 pounds; these are not milled-rice tonnes. Production is reported in million cwt. Source production counts are divided by 1,000,000. The converted values preserve the precision of the source counts.
These are survey-based production estimates for the 2025 harvest, not 2026 forecasts, exports or farm revenue. The overview figures incorporate revisions after the January 2026 annual summary. Missing or unreported state values are not treated as zero; this is not a complete 50-state table.
