Most Traded Cryptocurrencies by 24-Hour Volume 2026
About This Dataset
Most Traded Cryptocurrencies by 24-Hour Volume 2026How the data is collected. An exchange's volume is the sum of the volume of every trading pair it lists, valued through CoinGecko's global volume-weighted average price for each coin. Pairs blacklisted for inconsistent data, and pairs that have not updated for more than three hours, are dropped from that sum, which the company says is meant to keep the aggregate reflecting market conditions as accurately as possible. The global figure is the total across every exchange the site tracks, and the window rolls with the clock instead of following a calendar day.
Background. CoinGecko does not publish reported turnover flat. Every trading pair carries a Trust Score of its own, and every spot exchange carries a score from 1 to 10 whose published breakdown covers liquidity, scale, API coverage, regulation and cybersecurity; the most recent revision of that score replaced web-traffic measures with direct volume and order-book depth, and an earlier one folded in exchange reserves. Derivatives venues are ranked separately, on open interest and reported trading volume.
Limits. This is the least comparable figure in this set of charts. CoinPaprika, reading the same market minutes later, reported 17.46 billion of Bitcoin turnover against CoinGecko's 23.95 billion, and 59.78 billion for Tether against 48.62 billion. Turnover relative to size also varies enormously and is not a ranking of interest in a coin: NEAR Protocol traded 32.9 per cent of its own market value in the day and Avalanche 32.25 per cent, while BNB, worth at least eighteen times as much as either, traded 0.95 per cent.
The order here is not the order by size. Tether, third by market value, trades more than Bitcoin and Ethereum combined, and USDC, sixth by value, trades more than Ethereum. Seven coins ranked outside the twenty largest appear on this list, led by NEAR Protocol at 1.81 billion and Avalanche at 1.61 billion, both ahead of BNB at 0.97 billion. The four stablecoins contribute 61.47 billion of the 113.35 billion total. Below the top six the figures fall away sharply: the seventh entry trades 1.81 billion, less than a tenth of what Bitcoin does, and the twentieth trades 0.42 billion.
