Largest Cryptocurrencies by Market Value 2026
About This Dataset
Largest Cryptocurrencies by Market Value 2026How the data is collected. CoinGecko multiplies each coin's circulating supply by its price. The price is an aggregate rather than one exchange's quote: the site builds a Bitcoin Price Index from a volume-weighted average of selected BTC/USD, BTC/USDT, BTC/USDC and BTC/EUR pairs, converts other tickers through it, and aggregates the top 600 tickers by volume for each coin after filtering out the ones it detects as anomalous. Circulating supply is obtained from the token teams and verified by CoinGecko; for proof-of-work coins it is queried from the coin's own block explorer, pre-mined coins are counted in, and locked tokens are deducted from total supply.
Background. At the moment of reading, CoinGecko tracked 21,342 active cryptocurrencies across 1,500 markets, with a combined market value of 2,767.50 billion dollars. Bitcoin's share of that total, the figure the site calls dominance, was 58.72 per cent, and Ethereum's was 11.59 per cent. Listing is free and the company states that no representative will ever ask for a listing fee; among its published criteria is that circulating supply must be communicated clearly, and it reserves the right to unpublish any asset whose information it finds inaccurate.
Limits. The ranking leaves out staked and wrapped derivatives, which would otherwise count the same underlying asset twice: Lido Staked Ether was worth 25.71 billion dollars at the same moment and carries no rank at all. It does include tokenised real-world assets, such as Figure Heloc in tenth place, which CoinPaprika does not list. The value also depends on the supply figure used, and the two trackers agreed on Dogecoin's price to within 0.1 per cent while putting its market value at 13.64 and 15.00 billion. A large value is not the same as active trading either: 345,014 dollars of Figure Heloc changed hands in twenty-four hours.
Bitcoin's 1,628.88 billion is larger than the other nineteen entries put together, which come to 1,023.18 billion. Ethereum is the only other coin above 200 billion, and the 321.44 billion it is worth leaves a gap of 138.10 billion to third-placed Tether. Below the top three the list thins out quickly: seven of the twenty are worth less than 10 billion, and Stellar in twentieth place, at 6.83 billion, is worth 0.42 per cent of Bitcoin. The three stablecoins among them, Tether, USDC and USDS, hold 267.12 billion between them, more than four fifths of Ethereum's value.
