Highest-Rated Anime Series on MyAnimeList 2026

What this chart shows. The ten television anime series with the highest weighted score on MyAnimeList, read from the site's Top Anime (TV) ranking in September 2026. Frieren: Beyond Journey's End leads on 9.25, ahead of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and the fourth season of Re:Zero, both on 9.11.

How the data is collected. Members of MyAnimeList rate a title from 1 to 10, and the site converts those votes into a weighted score rather than a plain average. Its published formula is (v / (v + m)) × S + (m / (v + m)) × C, where S is the title's own average, v the number of scoring users, m a minimum number of scorers and C the mean score across the whole database. A title that has not reached the minimum shows no score at all.

Background from the source. MyAnimeList states that scores from users who have not watched at least a fifth of a finished series are left out, as are scores from accounts it identifies as created to sway votes. Titles rated R18+ are given a score but kept out of the rankings, and music videos are excluded from Top Anime altogether.

Limits. A spread of 0.23 points covers the whole top ten, so the order is far tighter than the ranking positions suggest, and a few thousand new votes can reorder it. Long-running shows appear here as individual seasons, which is why three Gintama seasons and one Attack on Titan season hold places of their own. Titles are shown by the English name where one is in common use, and otherwise as MyAnimeList lists them.
