The twenty countries with the lowest deaths under age five (per 1,000 births) in 2024, from World Bank figures for the 196 countries that reported that year. San Marino records the lowest figure at 1.30, with Estonia (2.00) and Luxembourg (2.20) next. Deaths before the fifth birthday per 1,000 live births. Where birth and death registration is incomplete the figure comes from surveys and modelling rather than from a full count.
