About This Dataset
Countries with the Highest Child Mortality 2024
Countries ranked by deaths under age five (per 1,000 births) in 2024, using World Bank figures for the 196 countries that reported that year. Nigeria leads on 115.6, ahead of Niger (110.7) and Somalia, Fed. Rep. (101.1). Deaths before the fifth birthday per 1,000 live births. Where birth and death registration is incomplete the figure comes from surveys and modelling rather than from a full count.
