Before a game could earn coins it had to be sold to arcade operators as a physical cabinet. This chart ranks arcade titles by reported hardware units sold; each figure is the total published up to the year the source records, so several are lower bounds rather than final lifetime sales.
Analysis
Space Invaders sold 750,000 cabinets, ahead of Pac-Man on 400,000 - a margin of 350,000 units.
