Milk Production by Country 2022
About This Dataset
Milk Production by Country 2022
Total milk produced in 2022, in tonnes, as recorded by the Food and Agriculture Organization. The figure covers all milk from all animals - cattle, buffalo, goats and sheep - which is why countries with large buffalo herds rank higher here than their dairy-cattle numbers alone would put them.
Analysis
India produced 213,779,230 tonnes of milk in 2022, 23.0% of the 930,295,040 tonnes produced worldwide that year and 2.1 times the 102,747,320 tonnes of the United States. The 15 countries here account for 66.0% of world output. 5 of them produced more than 30 million tonnes. The smallest producer on this chart, Argentina, made 11,904,142 tonnes.
