The twenty countries with the lowest physicians (per 1,000 people) in 2022, from World Bank figures for the 79 countries that reported that year. South Sudan records the lowest figure at 0.04, with Malawi (0.05) and Burundi (0.08) next. Practising physicians per 1,000 people, including generalists and specialists. Doctors registered but not practising are counted in some national statistics, so figures are not exactly comparable.
