Countries That Depend Most on Farming 2025

About This Dataset

Countries That Depend Most on Farming 2025
Countries ranked by agriculture (% of GDP) in 2025, using World Bank figures for the 158 countries that reported that year. Niger leads on 47.59, ahead of Guinea-Bissau (40.63) and Comoros (36.58). Agriculture, forestry and fishing value added as a share of GDP. A high share reflects a small non-farm economy rather than a large harvest: the biggest agricultural producers all sit low on this list.
Analysis

Niger (47.59), Guinea-Bissau (40.63) and Comoros (36.58) take the top three. Across the twenty shown, values run from 47.59 down to 23.16, a spread of 24.43. Niger is 1.17 times Guinea-Bissau, the country in second place. 19 of the 20 reach half the leading figure, 23.80 or more. The chart shows the twenty highest of 158 reporting countries, so it describes the top of the distribution rather than the world average.
