Countries ranked by tax revenue (% of GDP) in 2024, using World Bank figures for the 89 countries that reported that year. Lesotho leads on 35.42, ahead of Namibia (33.87) and Denmark (33.36). Central government tax revenue as a share of GDP. Social security contributions and taxes raised by regional or local governments are excluded, so federal countries look lower than their true tax burden.
