Wind Share of Electricity by Country 2022
About This Dataset
Wind Share of Electricity by Country 2022Denmark took 54.1% of its electricity from wind in 2022, already more than 20 points above Ireland at 33.7%. Uruguay at 32.2% is the highest non-European entry and the only South American one. The striking feature of this table is the middle: nine countries sit between 15% and 25%, meaning a large group of European grids had reached roughly a fifth wind power at the same time. Kenya at 16.5% and Morocco at 12.9% are the two African entries, both driven by single large wind projects rather than a broad build-out.
