About This Dataset
Largest Contributors to the UN Regular Budget 2025The United States is the single largest contributor to the UN regular budget at about $827 million, the maximum any country pays under the 22% assessment ceiling. China is now a clear second at roughly $686 million - a share that has climbed steeply with its economy and now far exceeds every other country except the US. Japan ($237M) and Germany ($195M) are the next largest, followed by the United Kingdom ($137M) and France ($132M). The remaining top contributors - Italy, Canada, South Korea and Australia - each pay under $100 million. The steep drop after the top two shows how heavily UN funding rests on its two biggest economies, and how China's rising assessment has reshaped the traditional Western-dominated funding structure.
