About This Dataset
Largest Arms Exporters 2021-2025The United States is overwhelmingly the world's dominant arms supplier, accounting for 42% of all major weapons exports - more than four times the share of second-placed France (9.8%). Russia, long the world's number two exporter, has fallen to third at 6.8% as sanctions and its war in Ukraine cut into deliveries. Germany (5.7%) and China (5.6%) are nearly tied for fourth. A cluster of mid-sized exporters follows: Italy (5.1%), Israel (4.4%), the UK (3.4%), South Korea (3.0%) and Spain (2.3%). The top five suppliers together control roughly three-quarters of the global market, showing how few countries produce and sell advanced weaponry at scale.
