Countries ranked by total proven natural gas reserves in 2025, measured in trillion cubic metres (tcm) according to BP Statistical Review of World Energy. Russia holds the world's largest proven natural gas reserves at approximately 37.4 trillion cubic metres — nearly 20% of the global total, concentrated primarily in the vast Siberian fields of Urengoy, Yamburg, and Bovanenkovo, which supply pipelines reaching across Europe and Asia.
