Countries ranked by total McDonald's restaurant locations operating within their borders in 2024 based on McDonald's Corporation annual report data. The United States remains by far the largest market with nearly 14,000 locations — the brand originated in San Bernardino, California in 1940, and American fast food culture remains its most deeply embedded home market despite decades of aggressive international expansion.
