Uranium Production by Country 2022
About This Dataset
Uranium Production by Country 2022
Uranium mined in 2022, measured in tonnes of contained uranium metal rather than tonnes of ore or of processed U3O8. Production is credited to the country the mine sits in, not to the company that owns it, which matters here because several of the largest mines are foreign-operated joint ventures.
Analysis
Kazakhstan produced 21,227 tonnes of uranium in 2022, 43.0% of the 49,355 tonnes mined worldwide and 2.9 times the 7,351 tonnes of Canada. The top three - Kazakhstan, Canada and Namibia - supplied 69.3% between them. 7 of the 15 producers mined under 1,000 tonnes. Iran is the smallest on the list at 20 tonnes.
