Silver Production by Country 2024
Silver mined in 2024, in tonnes, from the U.S. Geological Survey estimates. Most silver is a by-product: it comes out of mines whose main target is copper, lead, zinc or gold, which is why the ranking does not follow the ranking of dedicated silver mines.
Analysis
Mexico mined 6,300 tonnes of silver in 2024, 24.4% of the 25,790 tonnes mined worldwide and 1.9 times the 3,300 tonnes of China. The 14 countries listed produced 23,100 tonnes between them, 89.6% of the world total. The top three - Mexico, China and Peru - account for 49.2% on their own. Below them the field is even: 11 countries sit between 300 and 1,300 tonnes.
