Countries with the Most Renewable Electricity 2018
Countries ranked by renewable share of electricity (%) in 2018, using World Bank figures for the 203 countries that reported that year. Bhutan leads on 100.0, ahead of Lesotho (99.9) and Norway (97.8). The share of electricity generated from renewable sources, which for several leaders is almost entirely hydropower. It covers electricity only, not heating or transport fuel.
Analysis

Bhutan (100.0), Lesotho (99.9) and Norway (97.8) take the top three. Across the twenty shown, values run from 100.0 down to 81.6, a spread of 18.4. Only 0.1 separates Bhutan from Lesotho in second, 0.1% of the leading figure. Bhutan also came first in 2017. Of the 20 in this table that also reported in 2017, 8 recorded a higher figure than the year before and 8 a lower one. The largest single move was Namibia, from 85.3 to 95.0.
