Countries That Lose the Most Electricity in Transmission 2023

About This Dataset

Countries That Lose the Most Electricity in Transmission 2023
Countries ranked by transmission losses (% of output) in 2023, using World Bank figures for the 107 countries that reported that year. Iraq leads on 61.81, ahead of Benin (58.62) and Niger (45.78). Electricity lost between the power station and the customer, including theft and unbilled use. A high figure usually reflects the state of the grid and of billing rather than physics.
