Manufacturing Output by Country, 2004-2021China passed the United States in 2010 and never gave the lead back. By 2021 it was producing 4,845.6 billion dollars of manufacturing value added against 2,497.1 billion for the United States, and China alone accounted for 41.2 percent of the twelve countries' combined 11,771.5 billion. China grew 675 percent over the period against 55.1 percent for the United States, and India grew second-fastest at 305.9 percent, from 112.2 billion to 455.4 billion. Japan is the only one of the twelve that ends lower than it started, at 1,028.3 billion in 2021 against 1,036.1 billion in 2004, having peaked at 1,249.8 billion in 2012.
