Total electricity generated from wind power by country in 2023, in terawatt-hours, as measured by Ember from reported national grid data.
Analysis
China produced 886 TWh of wind electricity in 2023, more than double the United States at 421 TWh and almost exactly equal to the next six countries put together. Germany is third at 141 TWh. Brazil at 96 TWh is the highest-placed country outside Europe, North America and Asia, and outproduces every European country except Germany.
