Total electricity generated from wind power by country in 2024, in terawatt-hours, as measured by Ember from reported national grid data.
Analysis
China produced 997 TWh of wind electricity in 2024, more than double the United States at 452 TWh, and those two alone generate more wind power than the other thirteen countries listed combined. Germany is a distant third at 142 TWh. Setting this beside the wind-share ranking shows how different the two questions are: the United Kingdom generates 83 TWh here, far behind China, yet takes a much higher proportion of its own electricity from wind. Brazil at 108 TWh outproduces every European country except Germany.
