Clean Electricity Share by Country 2022Seven countries reached effectively 100% clean electricity in 2022 - one more than in 2023 - with Costa Rica and Nepal joining the usual hydropower group of Bhutan, DR Congo, Ethiopia, Iceland and Paraguay. Zambia at 88.9% is the only entry that does not appear in the 2023 or 2024 editions of this chart. Brazil at 89.8% is again the largest economy on the list, and Finland at 88.7% is the only country here that gets to a high clean share through a mix of nuclear, hydro and wind rather than one dominant source.
