Three franchises share the WNBA record, but the Houston Comets won their four consecutively in the league's first four seasons, from 1997 to 2000, and the team folded in 2008. The Detroit Shock's three were also won by a franchise that no longer exists under that name, having relocated first to Tulsa and then to Dallas.
