Formula 1 Drivers' Championship Points 2025

What this chart shows. The nineteen drivers who scored at least one point in the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship, with the points from Grands Prix and sprints added together. Lando Norris finished first on 423, two ahead of Max Verstappen on 421 and thirteen ahead of Oscar Piastri on 410. Two of the twenty-one drivers who started a race scored nothing: Franco Colapinto and Jack Doohan.

How the data is collected. Jolpica is an open-source API that follows the format of the older Ergast service, and it publishes the championship table for the season as an endpoint. This chart checks that table against the results themselves: adding up each driver's Grand Prix and sprint points reproduces all twenty-one totals exactly. A win in a Grand Prix scores 25 points and a win in a sprint 8.

Background. The 2025 calendar had twenty-four Grands Prix, and six of them included a sprint: the Chinese, Miami, Belgian, United States, São Paulo and Qatar Grands Prix. Points went to the top ten in a Grand Prix and the top eight in a sprint, and the extra point for the fastest lap, brought back in 2019, was abolished for 2025. Norris, Verstappen and Piastri all reached the final round in Abu Dhabi with a chance of the title, after Verstappen had cut a gap of 104 points to 12.

Limits. Points are a measure of results, not of speed. Six results were disqualifications and scored nothing: Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton and Pierre Gasly in China, Nico Hülkenberg in Bahrain, and Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri in Las Vegas.
