Tallest Bridges in the World

About This Dataset

Tallest Bridges in the World
A bridge's structural height is measured from its lowest visible point to the top of its towers, which is different from how high the deck sits above the ground. This chart ranks completed bridges by structural height; bridges still under construction are excluded.
Analysis

Changtai Yangtze River Bridge is the tallest completed bridge at 352 metres, 15.600000000000023 metres above Millau Viaduct. 7 of these 12 bridges are in China, which has built most of the world's tallest crossings in the past two decades - the median opening year on this chart is 2019. Structural height is not the same as deck height: these towers are tall because the spans they carry are long, not because the roadway is unusually high above the valley floor.
