Statue heights are measured for the figure itself, excluding the pedestal or base it stands on - a distinction that changes the ranking, since several famous monuments sit on very tall plinths. This chart lists the tallest statues in the world by figure height.
Analysis
Statue of Unity in India is the tallest statue in the world at 182 metres, 54 metres taller than Spring Temple Buddha. 3 of these 12 statues stand in China, more than any other country here. The heights are for the figure alone: measured with pedestals, several would rank differently.
