Verified Oldest Men in History
About This Dataset
Verified Oldest Men in History
The longest-lived men whose ages have been independently verified, in decimal years. Men are listed separately because the extremes of human lifespan are so lopsided: the oldest verified man died several years younger than the oldest verified woman, and women hold almost every place at the top of the combined list.
Analysis
Jiroemon Kimura of Japan lived 116 years, 54 days, the longest verified life of any man, ahead of Christian Mortensen at 115 years, 252 days. That is 6.3 years short of Jeanne Calment, the oldest verified person of either sex. 2 of the 12 men here were Japanese. The youngest entry on this chart still reached 113 years, 330 days.
