How the world's tallest completed buildings are distributed by country in 2026. The list covers every finished building of at least 350 metres, 98 of them at present. The count is of buildings, not of height, so a country with many 350-metre towers outranks one with a single record-breaker.
Analysis
Mainland China holds 48 of the 98 buildings on the list, 3.0 times the 16 of the United Arab Emirates, and its densest city is Shenzhen. Only 15 countries appear at all, and 78% of the buildings stand in the top three of them. 7 countries have exactly one entry. The tallest building in the leading country is Shanghai Tower, which is not the tallest on the list overall.
