Countries with the Most Forest Cover 2023
Countries ranked by forest area (% of land) in 2023, using World Bank figures for the 213 countries that reported that year. Suriname leads on 94.45, ahead of Micronesia (92.16) and Gabon (91.18). Forest as a share of total land area, under the FAO definition of land with tree cover over five metres tall. It measures extent, not the condition of the forest.
