Denmark Wind Share of Electricity by Year 2010-2025
About This Dataset
Denmark Wind Share of Electricity by Year 2010-2025Denmark wind share nearly tripled in fifteen years, from 20.2 percent in 2010 to 58.7 percent in 2025, which is also the highest value in the series. The path is not smooth: four years fell back, most sharply 2021, which gave up 8.4 points after 2020 reached 57.1 percent, and 2016, down 7.1 points. Wind output varies with the weather, so a single weak year does not mean turbines were removed. Two forces push the share up. Wind generation rose from 7.8 TWh to 20.3 TWh, while total Danish electricity output actually shrank, from 38.8 TWh to 34.5 TWh. A rising share on a shrinking base is what makes this chart unusual.
