Foreign-Born Population Share by Country 2024Qatar leads with 76.7% of residents born abroad, followed by the United Arab Emirates on 74%, meaning roughly three in four people in both countries are migrants. These figures are unmatched anywhere and stem from labour migration systems that import workers on temporary contracts while rarely granting citizenship, so the migrant share never falls. Kuwait's 67.3% follows the same model. The rest of the list is made up of micro-states and Caribbean territories: Monaco, Liechtenstein, Aruba, Sint Maarten and the Virgin Islands all exceed 60%, where tiny native populations are easily outnumbered. No large Western nation appears, despite migration dominating their politics, because even the highest such shares are well under 30%.
