Trade Share of GDP by Country 2024Hong Kong tops the list at 359.4% of GDP, meaning its combined trade is more than three and a half times the size of its own economy, just ahead of Luxembourg on 351.3% and Singapore on 313.3%. These are not the world's biggest traders in absolute terms but its most exposed: goods flow in and straight back out, counted twice against a small domestic economy. Djibouti at 241.2% is the clearest example of pure geography as an economic model, serving as the port for landlocked Ethiopia. Vietnam on 173.9% and Slovakia on 171.2% are the notable large-economy entries, both deeply embedded in global manufacturing supply chains. Every country listed exceeds 171%.
