Roller Coasters with the Longest Drops
Key Findings
About This Dataset
Roller Coasters with the Longest DropsFalcon's Flight (158 m) again heads the field, its drop 38 m deeper than Top Thrill 2 (120 m) at Cedar Point - a gap wider than most coasters' entire drops. Below the leader the values fall smoothly: Red Force (105 m), Fury 325 (98 m), then a dense cluster of Steel Dragon 2000 (93.5 m), Leviathan (93 m), Millennium Force (91 m) and Orion (91 m) separated by only a couple of metres. The list closely mirrors the tallest-coaster ranking, confirming that the biggest drops come from the tallest structures - though launch coasters like Falcon's Flight can convert their full height into a single continuous plunge, maximising the sensation of free fall.
