Most Popular Car Colors Worldwide (2024)The world's car buyers overwhelmingly prefer neutral, achromatic colors. White is the clear global favourite at 29% of vehicles, a lead it has held for over a decade, driven partly by its popularity in Asia and for commercial fleets. Black and grey tie for second at 23% each, meaning these three shades alone account for 75% of every new car made. Together with silver (7%), achromatic colors cover more than eight in ten vehicles worldwide. Actual colors barely register: blue is the most popular chromatic choice at just 6%, and no colored hue reaches double digits. The dominance of neutrals reflects buyers' concerns about resale value, timelessness and the perception that white and grey cars hide dirt and age better - a remarkably consistent global consensus.
