US airports overwhelmingly dominate, taking seven of the top ten places, including Dallas-Fort Worth (743,394), Denver (701,335) and Las Vegas (586,046). The only non-US entries are Shanghai Pudong (557,046), Guangzhou Baiyun (550,512) and Istanbul (549,309), clustered tightly at the bottom of the list. The ranking shows that movement volume and passenger volume measure different things, since busy hub-and-spoke operations can generate enormous flight counts.
