About This Dataset
Commercial Aircraft Deliveries by Manufacturer (2024)Airbus decisively out-delivered every rival in 2024, handing over 766 commercial aircraft, more than twice Boeing's 348. Boeing's relatively low output reflects the production and regulatory difficulties it faced following renewed safety scrutiny of the 737 MAX. Beyond the two giants, the regional manufacturers are far smaller: Brazil's Embraer delivered 73 commercial jets, China's state-owned COMAC 50 aircraft (its ARJ21/C909 regional jet and C919 narrowbody), and Franco-Italian ATR 35 turboprops. COMAC's total, more than double its 2023 figure, signals China's growing ambition to challenge the Airbus-Boeing duopoly, though it remains a small fraction of their scale. Together the five manufacturers delivered over 1,270 aircraft, the overwhelming majority from the two dominant Western planemakers.
