Countries ranked by the percentage of new passenger cars sold that were fully electric (BEV) in 2024, according to IEA Global EV Outlook and national registration data. Norway has achieved a remarkable transition — over 90% of all new cars sold in 2024 were fully electric, driven by a combination of generous purchase incentives, toll exemptions, free parking in cities, and some of the world's most comprehensive public charging networks.
