Countries With the Most TOP500 Supercomputers 2026
Systems on the June 2026 TOP500 list, counted by the country where the machine is installed. The list ranks computers by measured LINPACK performance and includes only systems whose owners submit a result, so classified and commercial machines that never run the benchmark are absent.
Analysis
The United States hosts 161 of the 500 systems, 3.7 times the 44 of Japan. These 10 countries account for 356 systems; the remaining 144 are spread across countries the list does not break out individually. The four western European entries - Germany 41, France 21, Italy 18 and the United Kingdom 11 - hold 91 systems between them. The smallest entry, Russia, has 5.
