Countries ranked by GDP (USD trillion) in 2017, using World Bank figures for the 211 countries that reported that year. United States leads on 19.61, ahead of China (12.54) and Japan (5.04). Gross domestic product at market exchange rates, in current US dollars. Converting at market rates means a currency movement can change a country's position without any change in what it produces.
