Countries ranked by aircraft departures (thousand) in 2023, using World Bank figures for the 150 countries that reported that year. United States leads on 9,267, ahead of China (4,909) and India (1,235). Take-offs by carriers registered in the country, counting domestic and international flights. Large domestic markets therefore rank far above their share of world travel.
